Maola, the Thief, and Suknak, the Goblin, found themselves in a dire situation. They were being pursued relentlessly by the formidable Lord Saruka and his ruthless allies. It had taken them days of constant movement and hiding to evade their pursuers, but their luck had run out when they stumbled upon a group of armed guards blocking their path.
"Great," Maola muttered under her breath. "Just what we needed."
Suknak hissed in agreement, eyeing the guards warily. They both knew that they were outnumbered and outmatched but surrender was not an option for them. They had to fight their way out of this.
With hearts pounding and adrenaline coursing through their veins, Maola and Suknak launched themselves at the guards with all their might. Their movements were quick and precise, each strike hitting its mark.
Just as they were about to make their escape, they heard a familiar voice. It was Lord Saruka, accompanied by a group of fierce warriors.
Maola panted as the powerful politician closed in on them. "We've got two options here. We can either surrender and face the consequences or fight to the bitter end and risk everything."
Suknak grinned mischievously. "You didn't think I stole all this treasure to give it up without a fight, did you?"
Maola rolled her eyes. "That's not what I meant."
Suknak chuckled. "I know, I know. But we've come too far to give up now."
"Alright, then. Let's make it count."
As Lord Saruka approached, Maola tossed the stolen jewel at his feet. "Here, take it. We don't want it anyway."
"You thieves are always so predictable. Did you really think returning this trinket would save your necks?" said Lord Saruka as he picked up the jewel with a cruel smile.
Suknak grinned widely. "Maybe you need a new necklace. We could help you pick one out."
Maola shot Suknak a disapproving look. "Ignore him. Look, we know we messed up. But let's be real here, you wouldn't be chasing us like this if you didn't want what we took."
The goblin nodded eagerly. "Exactly! You gotta admit, it was pretty impressive."
"Suknak, shut up."
Lord Saruka eyed them warily. "What do you want in exchange for the return of my property?"
Maola shrugged. "Let us go free...?"
"Ask for a castle! I've always wanted a castle." whispered Suknak.
Maola rolled her eyes. "We're not asking for a castle, Suknak."
"Well, make up your minds. Time is running out." Lord Saruka grew impatient.
Maola and Suknak exchanged a quick glance before simultaneously charging at Lord Saruka, ready to fight until the bitter end. "We choose option three: Kill you!"
They fought back with renewed vigor, using every skill and trick they had learned over the years. But the odds were against them, and they knew that they couldn't keep this up forever.
The woman took two warriors out with paralyzing spells and the goblin made Lord Saruka fall with his flurry of spear thrusts. The battle raged on but they knew that they were fighting a losing battle. No matter what they did, their opponents would always get up and resume fighting.
"Looks like we're done for," Suknak said, his voice tinged with defeat.
Maola glared at him, her eyes blazing with determination. "Don't you dare give up now," she hissed.
Just as all hope seemed lost, a figure appeared from the shadows. It was a powerful mage, wielding magic unlike anything she had ever seen before.
Zsaroknuk farof anatka!
he shouted into the air, holding his staff above his head.
The mage unleashed a burst of energy, knocking back Lord Saruka and his allies. Maola and Suknak took advantage of the distraction, making their escape into the night.
As they ran, Maola knew that they had narrowly escaped death, but she also knew that they were still in danger. They had burned every bridge and made powerful enemies, but for now, they were alive.
And that was all that mattered.
